Iowa ambulance company receives $80K for cardiac arrest equipment

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Congressman Dave Loebsack has announced that Johnson County Ambulance will receive a total of $80,590 in funding from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program.

The funding will be used to purchase four mechanical chest compression devices and four complementary portable ventilator units to assist patients in cardiac arrest.

The AFG program allows first responders to purchase equipment and implement wellness programs that focus on health and improve facilities. Funds can be used for a myriad of needs, including new protective equipment, health and safety modifications to stations and training for emergency personnel.
