Ill. county ambulance service gets grant toward purchase of power cot

The power cot can hold up to 700 pounds and is run on a battery pack

MOUNDS, Ill. — The Pulaski County Ambulance Service recently received a grant from the Illinois Counties Risk Management Trust, to help purchase a new power cot.

The grant is a 50 percent matching program, with a total amount of $7,939.90. The Oris B. Hastings Charitable Foundation, located in Cairo, donated the other 50 percent to purchase the power cot.

"It reduces the risk of injuries for the patient and staff," Eric Snedeker, risk management consultant for Pulaski County, said.
