Overview:

The Highway Safety Grants are used to reduce deaths, injuries and property damage resulting from traffic crashes. The Bureau of Highway Safety addresses those highway safety problems that relate to the behavioral factors of drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and other highway users.

The mission of the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety is to save lives and reduce injuries on Maine roads and highways, through strong leadership, partnerships with other public and private organizations, innovations, facilitations, project and program support, and through the effective administration of traffic safety grant funds.

Funding Categories:

- Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Within this category, funds are dedicated to support training, public information and education, equipment acquisition, staff support and program adminstration. Funded projects can provide direct services and/or system improvements.
