Overview:

Office of Homeland Security is requesting applications from local governments for funding interoperable communications projects under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) FY 2010 IECGP. This grant provides funding to local and tribal governmental entities, for interoperable communications planning, training and exercises, equipment, and personnel activities.

IECGP Program Priorities:

DHS has established two programmatic priority groups addressing gaps in (1) governance and common operational planning and protocols, and (2) emergency responder skills and capablities development through training and exercise.

Match:

The purchase of interoperable communications equipment is authorized under the FY 2010 IECGP. Equipment purchases require a 25% match in funding and is allowed only after meeting stringent prerequisites (refer to RFA).

Eligibility:

Local governments under New York State Home Rule Law §2(8) are eligible to apply, which include counties, cities, towns, and villages.

Application Deadline:

Applications must be submitted to OHS through the E-Grants portal no later than 11:59 pm January 21, 2010.
