Emergency Operations Center Grant

Overview:

Office of Homeland Security is requesting applications from local governments for funding Emergency Operations Center construction and renovations projects under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) FY2010 EOCGP.

EOCGP Program Priorities:

The FY 2010 EOCGP is intended to improve emergency management and preparedness capabilities by supporting flexible, sustainable, secure, strategically located, and fully interoperable EOCs with a focus on addressing identified deficiencies and needs. Fully capable emergency operations facilities at the State and local levels are an essential element of a comprehensive national emergency management system and are necessary to ensure continuity of operations and continuity of governemtn in major disasters or emergencies caused by any hazard.

Match:

The EOC Grant Program has a 75 percent Federal and 25 percent grantee cost share cash- or in-kind match requirement. The matching requirement applices to both competitive and non-competitive awards.

Eligibility:

Local governments under New York State Home Rule Law §2(8) are eligible to apply, which include counties, cities, towns and villages.

Funding Amount:

Local applicants may apply for up to $250,000 in federal funds for renovation projects and up to $1 million in federal funds for construction projects.

Application Deadline:

Applications must be submitted to OHS through the E-Grants portal not later than 11:59 pm on January 25, 2010.
