| Search and Rescue Grant - Kentucky |
|
Grant Details: Overview: The purpose of this grant is to assist with solving identified problems or concerns for Kentucky rescue squads. Priority for grant funding will be given to rescue squads that have no other means of funding, i.e., federal grants, KOHS grants, etc., and to requests that fulfill unique needs within a community or region and teams that do not charge for services. These funds will be allocated by the Administrative Branch of Kentucky Emergency Management through this competitive grant process. Training courses, Basic Search and Rescue and Managing Search Operations, are offered several times a year, free of charge. Grants are offered each year to eligible rescue squads and specialty rescue teams for purchasing minimum equipment required in Chapter 39F and for optional rescue equipment. Eligibility: The SAR Program is a support function to the counties, local rescue squads and other emergency services organizations who perform search, rescue and recovery operations for lost, missing and overdue persons. For more eligibility information, please follow this link. Non-mandatory Workshop: A grant workshop will be held on July 13, 2012, in Frankfort, KY at the Commonwealth Emergency Operations Center from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. This workshop is open to all potential applicants. Topics include: grant guidance for FY 13, eligibility requirements, writing a proper justification narrative, and review of the revised FY 13 application and instructions.
