Description: Overview:
The National Emergency Medicine Association (N.E.M.A.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1982. Its mission, and that of its special programs, is the prevention of injury and illness by addressing health and social issues through education, applied research, technology, and equipment. The Association is concerned with emergency at every stage of trauma, with particular attention paid to the excellence of first response at the time and place of emergency.
Grant Priorities:
1st consideration to grants relating to coronary trauma and heart wellness programs.
2nd consideration to grants relating to all types of trauma (i.e., vehicular and stroke).
3rd consideration to grants relating to trauma prevention and to the cause of trauma.
All proposals should discuss how the project would make a difference in the organization’s ability to perform its mission. In addition, grants that are designed for national impact will receive consideration over regional and local designs. If accepted for funding, the National Emergency Medicine Association will require quarterly written progress reports and financial statements.
Program objectives and criteria:
- Reach a broad segment of the community.
- Relate to the improvement of emergency/trauma response systems.
- Prevent coronary trauma through research.
- Optimize cardiac services and emergency treatment.
- Further N.E.M.A.’s mission through the grantee’s own projects, and communicates N.E.M.A.’s mission of trauma prevention.
- Conduct research to improve life expectancy of cardiac and trauma victims.
Deadlines: Applications reviewed quarterly in March, June, September and December.
