06/13/2012 AFG 2012 Application Available The FY 2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant application period opened Monday, giving fire and EMS departments accross the United States a chance to apply for assistance from the largest federal grant program aimed at fire and EMS services. The primary goal of the AFG is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and nonaffiliated emergency medical service organizations. Since 2001, AFG has helped
firefighters and other first responders to obtain critically needed equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training, and other resources needed to protect the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards.
